Statement:
Welcome to my website. My name is Donna Rupe and I am
hooked on clay. My rite of passage into my 50's took me
back to a local community college to pursue my passion for
the arts. One of the classes was Ceramics by a wonderful
teacher, Michael Galletta. From that point on, clay got
into my blood. Clay is a wonderful medium. It can be
pounded, pressed, stretched or molded into various shapes.
Yet, the potter learns to respect and know its limitations.
Creativity is only limited by the artist's imagination.
I work primarily with stoneware clay and make my own glazes
from select recipes. These are fired to Cone 6 in an
electric kiln. All of my functional ware is food-safe and
lead-free. All my tiles and bas relief's are made with
terra cotta clay and fired to Cone 04.
